Rotor–Stator Disperser Calculation

It is typical to think that when we want to calculate the main fundamental use of this device, i.e., the shear rate or shear stress, that the distance between the rotor and stator is so small that we can assume that it’s linear and very simple—the velocity of the rotor minus the velocity of the stator that is zero, divided by the distance between them—and we think that it will be enough. This is a good, brief approximation, but when we want to really calculate the influence of mixing in the process that we normally are providing with Visimix products, we need to be more precise and more connected to the real-world situation regarding the actual results and shear rate that we’re really applying in our media when using a rotor–stator disperser. For this purpose, the Visimix laboratory has spent three years developing a method to measure the actual shear rate applied in the channel between the rotor and the stator for different kinds of media, starting with a homogeneous medium and low viscosity through to high viscosity and various materials. For all these situations, we can measure the real shear rate or shear stress being applied in the channels for different rotor states.
Based on this and the deviation from the theoretical to the simplified model, we present a complete model with documentation that explains the connection between the local shear rate applied and what happens in every channel the rotor–stator.

The documentation explains how this local device influence the process in the complete equipment. This devise is used in order to manufacture in bigger scales, our materials that are in different fields; cosmetics, formulations, even in organic synthesis, when we have fast reactions.
So like a normal way that VisiMix software is working, that connects between the numerical results solution of differential equations ( that explain the hydrodynamic of the flow), the VisiMix RSDE connects these results, where it based on the empirical data that we collect, and in the real fundamentals of hydrodynamics by friction factors that we’re experimenting in circulation flow, that is a real circulation flow that we are generating with this equipment in the tank .
Other important consideration is the position of this devise in the stirred vesses. His location in the tank will release for you a very precise calculation and unique one. A unique model that can explain the shear rate we’re applying, the shear stress we were applying, and how is the consequence or the influence of this equipment into our complex tank for different industries.
