Aditya Birla Chemicals, Advanced Material Business has been using VisiMix for the last two years with focus on simulations of mixing/agitation systems to avail mixing profiles along with data of both macro and micro mixing for efficient implementation: Visimix has facilitated the following:
- Calculation of mixing parameters and profiles, helping in evaluation of the batch size, mass transfer and heat transfer for the present agitator system within the manufacturing units. This results in optimization of the batch size, height and power requirements and choice of impeller for both low and high-viscous systems.
Ex: Transition from 6 Ton to 11 Ton Batch size for one grade. (90% increase in batch size) - Evaluation of the mixing parameters at various scales resulting in efficient and successful technology transfer from lab to commercial level
Ex: Vertical scale-up from 50L reactor to 22kL reactor system for 6 grades. (Scale up factor of 440 times) - Evaluation of vendor data provided for new plant designs for the agitation/mixing systems
- Simulation of reactions with mixing/agitation, to see the distribution (Concentration) profile of components within the reactors
